Today,Wednesday, December the 19th,2018 Teachers of English along with their supervisor Mr Abdelhamid Alidirissi from Nador province (Morocco) took part in the first workshop on ” Fostering Student Motivation and Learner-centred Classrooms” organized by the US Embassy in collaboration with CRMEF, the regional teacher training Center of the ministry of Education, and Mohamed First University in Oujda . The workshop is conducted by Mrs.Ann Leake, a fellow in education from USA, who’s been working in the field of teaching and Professional Development for more than 40 years. The first workshop includes interesting demo-activities such as ‘Inside-Outside Circle’, ‘Reflection on Teaching/Learning ُExperiences’, and ‘Jigsaw: a Reading Activity’. This event targets important objectives like Team work and ways of good management,sharing information and how to foster student motivation by motivating the unmotivated ones. And this by means of some tips:
- Teaching unplugged.
- let students use technology and Tech skills.
- Find a way to have the class takeover .
- Avoid the obvious.
- Make them curious.
- Create a WEB not a WHEEL.
Today’s workshop was concluded by handing out outstanding take-aways for the participants before taking a group photo.
