“My real birth took place in 2010 when I embraced Islam, this is the real life” said Josette who converted to Islam at the age of 92!
After visiting Meccah, The Belgian woman was invited to Shargiya region in Saudi Arabia to tell his story to over 300 women, who couldn’t hold their tears listening to the impressive story.
One of compelling reasons behind her conversion was the Muslims around her who always behave well in her presence. A Moroccan family were specifically who drew her attention to Islam. They motivated her to learn and enjoy this beautiful religion.
Nour ( formerly Jossete) talked about her conversion story mentioning “The main reason behind my conversion is primarily having worked alongside Muslims who I got to know and I remarked they showed a special care to elderly .Whereas in Europe, it’s often the opposite, where children put their aged parents in the care houses .I also saw in the Muslims love and respect for me, they supported me while I was Christian without anything in return.” She said .
Nour stressed one of the impressive reasons behind discovering the beauty of Islam. It was the hospitality of Moroccan woman who used to invite her home .
“She, her husband and four little children cared about me without asking anything back” She stated . “It is surely what made me love Islam and pushed me to declare the shahada ” Nour added .
Comparing Islam with other religions, the Belgian new Muslim said : “I was a nurse for a Jewish family and I had the chance to see the big difference between Islam and Judaism : Islam is a religion which does not change unlike other ones”
What can we Muslims learn for such significant story ? Nour is a compelling example proving that our behaviors and manners are also attributed to our religion .
