Werner Herzog, German director and producer, has recently completed the main shooting scenes from the film "Queen of the Desert" in Ouarzazate.
The main roles of the film "Queen of the Desert" are played by global movie stars including Nicole Kidman, James Franco and Robert Pattinson .
Not less than 50 Moroccan actors, including Abdellatif Chaouki, Mahdi Ouazzani, Mustapha El Houari, had the chance to meet these global stars of the seventh art.
In a statement to MAP, the executive producer of the film, Hamid Haraf, mentioned the shooting took place in excellent conditions.
"Queen of the Desert" which is scheduled to be released next year, tells the "real" story of Gertrude Bell, a woman of letters, archaeologist, English officer and spy who traveled to the Middle East at the beginning of twentieth century to defend British interests in this region.
Like "Lawrence of Arabia", the woman had succeeded in mobilizing the Arab tribes in the Middle East to join the British camp in its war against the Ottoman Empire.
