“My name is Amine” is more of an educational project than a literary work. It’s a novel that falls into eight chapters. Each chapter is followed by reading comprehension following THE SQ4R approach.
The novel can be used as extensive reading material. You won’t need to devise comprehension tasks. It can also designed as reading extracts for the classroom use.
This novel is by no means an autobiographical account. However, some events in the life of the main character may resemble, to some extent, those in my childhood.
I deliberately avoided writing about me. I wanted this novel to mirror a life that could be shared with most of my generation and serve as a learning experience for the kids of today.
It’s with great hope that I expect today’s youngsters to find this book appealing to them and above all find great pleasure in reading it. I also hope it will be of some good use to them in improving their English.
One more thing, I hope teachers of English will find this book worth teaching in class. They might find some of the themes and comprehension tasks in the book interesting to link to the syllabus.

About the author: Mr. Hassan AIT MAN
- 1996: Graduated from Ibn Zohr University Agadir ( English literary studies)
- 1997: one year DEA studies at Mohamed V University Rabat.
- 1998: Graduated from ENS ( Ecole Normale Superieure) Rabat.
- Mr. Hassan AITMAN has been teaching English as a foreign language for 12 years . He taught in Guelmim before joining Sidi ou sidi High school in Taroudant where he teaches now.
- Mr. AIT MAN is a 2010 ILEP alumnus: ( International Leaders in Education Program) : A five-month academic program funded by USA Department of State and administered by IREX.
- Mr. AIT MAN is a member and and active participant in MATE activities. ( Moroccan Association of Teachers of English) and MorceNET
- Mr. AIT MAN won the International ISA award for coordinating his school Connecting Classrooms project run by the British Council.
- Mr.AIT MAN is a holder of IEI Degree from IEI, University of Oregon, USA.
