Morocco's Stability Spurs Economic Development (WIEF President)

Morocco's stability is spurring the country's economic development, said president of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF), Tun Musa Hitam.

Hitam, who was on a visit to Morocco last week, highlighted in an interview with MAP the importance of Morocco's geographic proximity to Europe, "on which the country built on during various stages of its economic and trade development", calling decision-makers to include among its partners other countries, mainly Islamic ones, which boast considerable potentials and could support the ongoing emergence in Morocco.

Regarding the Forum's 9th  session which will take place next October 29-31 in London, Hitam said it will be an opportunity to bring together economic operators from Islamic countries as well as businesses from non-Islamic countries, willing to cooperate in order to secure more progress to their projects.

The WIEF president, a former deputy prime minister of Malaysia expected the list of participants to exceed 1,500, voicing satisfaction at the "impressive number of heads of state" who will show up.
