Classroom Management is an expression used by teachers to characterize and depict and ensure that the process of learning within the classroom is running steadily fulfilling the targeted goals in spite of the students’ troublemaking. These “troublemaking” attitudes are probably one of the reasons why some teachers can’t successfully teach. It is believed it is proved that ill classroom management skills lead to poor communication and connection in the classroom. That is to say that once a teacher is not in control or once he is not reaching his students they eventually get bored. As a result of this ,they lose interest and they resort to troublemaking. Hence, the loss or the shortage of an active and an efficient classroom management might signify that the process of knowledge acquisition with the classroom is decreased and so is their motivation.
If the classroom management planning is effective the educator reduces his students’ negative behaviors that disturb the process of learning .Thus, decreasing negative behaviors and increasing the positive ones boosts the rate of learning among students. In the main, successful teachers always resort to enhance their classroom management cleverness.
Since classroom management is a set of methods ,ways and skills that permit teachers to take charge and be in control so as to produce a healthy and a genuine learning atmosphere, it has aims to attain ,among which :
- encouraging communication and collaboration within the classroom.
- Increasing the connection between the teacher and his students.
- Increasing the rate of students achievements.
Producing a “typical “ classroom environment provides a suitable schooling milieu as it consists of recognizing and rewarding positive attitudes and developing a healthy teacher-student relationship which will lead to a better learning environment for the reason that once the students are aware of their teacher’s investment in them they are more likely to behave themselves in the classroom.
To develop a typical teacher-student relationship teachers should:
a- Show respect to their students and encouraging them to express themselves.
b- Actively listen and make time for the one-on-one communication.
c- Identify and display students work, talents and strengths.
d- Serve as a role model and celebrate their fulfillments.
e- Be steady and fair to all.
All in all, classroom management speaks of the skills and the techniques used by the teacher in the classroom to keep the pupils active, organized and focused.
Despite the fact that there are several methods and strategies that can be used to manage the classroom the main aim has always been and will always be making sure that students are safe and comfortable in a healthy environment.
