As a response to the Paris attacks, Mosques throughout the UK have opened their doors to general public in a special initiative to ease the tensions which have been recently provoked in Europe. This remarkable event which was named Visit My Mosque Day has been organized by Muslim Council of Britain today on Sunday, February the 1st 2015.
According to Sky News, more than 20 mosques would be serving tea and cakes to visitors who want understand more about Islam, The Muslim Council of Britain said.
This initiative comes after the late European tensions with Muslims which was heightened by the Charlie Hebdo attacks in France. The objective behind this event was to ease those tensions and get the Brits closer to the true image of Islam.
On the other hand, President of Germany, the country which witnessed noticeable anti-Islam movements, also had attempted to alleviate the tensions. In this regard, she said Islam “belongs to Germany”, in a clear repudiation of anti-immigration protesters gathering in Dresden and other cities.
